The exotic Italian in Hong Kong

Castle Road is a project that orchestrates timeless “Italian” elegance through constantly changing horizontal plant layers, sensitively stitching together the fragmented verticality of the architecture in the vibrant heart of Hong Kong.

The Legacy project was conceived as an interpretation of the Italian manufacturing tradition, translated into a language that communicates with Hong Kong's architectural and cultural context. The artisan identity, characterised by precision, attention to detail and formal research, thus becomes the key to creating an eccentric and refined environment, where the elegance of the Italian garden blends with the dynamism and character of the local urban landscape.

At first glance, the Landscape guides visitors on a journey of suggestions: at the entrance, a Carrara marble sculpture, suspended in a delicate balance, introduces the project's aesthetic archetype and establishes an intense dialogue with the building's dark tones and monumentality. Carefully selected trees and shrubs create natural backdrops that evoke the Mediterranean landscape and elegantly enhance the sense of arrival, creating an immersive experience with an immediately recognisable “exotic” flavour.

This identity develops and layers across all outdoor spaces, from the ground floor to intermediate levels to the panoramic rooftop, transforming the space into a place of urban contemplation. Among the elements inspired by Italian gardens, cypress trees emerge as vertical plant sculptures, capable of imparting order and theatricality. The vegetation intertwines with stone materials that evoke the two-tone colours of the Renaissance, creating a landscape with an evocative and spectacular character.
